Ceiling Cladding Query - using Woodlands White Ash

Overview:

I wish to clad a ceiling using Wood Grain from the Forest Range, colour White Ash. The cladding is to go between beams with fastening to beam sides.

Question:

The ceiling is divided into four sections. Two sections are 6 metres long with 1.3 metres width between beams. The two other sections are 4 metres long with 1.3 metres between beams.1. WOULD I BE ABLE TO SUPPORT THE WIDTH WITH AN ADHESIVE TO AVOID SAG, OR WOULD THIS NOT BE NEEDED?2. WOULD I USE AN L SHAPED SECTION TO SLOT THE SECTIONS IN?3. Please quote me a price for the materials neede to complete the task.4. PLEASE QUOTE ME A PRICE IF I DOUBLE UP ON THE ORDER TO DO MY NEIGHBOURS HOME.- Brian

Hi Brian - this sounds like a fairly specific job, so for a full breakdown you'd be best giving us a call on 0114 2799188. However I'll try to answer your questions in brief here: 1. the panels are fairly lightweight so assuming they're not going to be bearing any loads, this should be OK. We would recommend that you screw the panels into the beams - you place the screws in the T&G part of the panel, so that the screwhead is hidden once the panels are slotted together. 2. I assume you are referring to our J-shaped edge trim? You certainly could use this, or some of our ceiling coving - either would suffice. 3 & 4. I couldn't say for certain as you haven't given me the length of your ceiling down both sides - however a pack of 2.7m panels covering 2.7 x 1m would cost £43 and a pack of 5m covering 5x1m would cost £79.62 (both prices inc. VAT). Hope this helps!
