Is cladding safe, and can you apply cladding over tiles? - Johanna

Hello Johanna, thanks for your query. It's certainly safe and easy to fit, and because the panels can be wiped down, then you don't need to worry about using any 'extra-strength' cleaning products which may be less safe to use in a food preparation environment. In terms of fire safety, they're class 1 fire rated, so while strong and durable, they are NOT fireproof - they're plastic, so they will melt if exposed to high temperatures for long periods of time. For this reason, if you plan on cladding behind a hob, or any area which might be exposed to hot fats/oils, then we'd recommend fitting a piece of stainless steel on top of the panel where it meets said area. All things considered, then, we would be confident in recommending our wall panels and wall cladding for kitchens, and there are certainly no safety reasons not to do so.
